January 2011
Music: Fink “This Is The Thing” – So, my smokin’ fine fiance Paige noticed this little snippet playing in the background of Dear, John. We then found out who it was and it proceeded to blow my mind.
Book(s): In 2011 — I’ve committed to reading 1 book a month. For some that is very few; for others, 12 books in year is unheard of; for me it’s a good start in the world of reading.
Two book options for January:
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell – The Story of Success
Linchpin by Seth Godin – Are you indispensable?
Blog(s):
Corbett Barr - A lifestyle entrepreneur and a digital nomad. You can learn a lot from this guy.

December
Music: Anberlin “The Haunting” - For some reason, this songs gives of a christmas-ey feel. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this song for a good 4-5 years, and I blast it most during the Nov/Dec/Jan months.
Book(s): Sacred Marriage, by Gary Thomas: Paige and I are reading this. We’re only on Chapter 1. It’s a very in-depth, deep read — but we’re looking forward to reading it together.
Gazelles, Baby Steps And 37 Other Things Dave Ramsey Taught Me About Debt, by Jon Acuff: Let me preface this by saying, ANYTHING Jon Acuff writes is worth reading. This book combines humor with finance-related topics that will have you reading from front to back if your not careful.
Blog(s): This one is hard this month. I’ve been reading a LOT of different blogs lately. Here are a few to check out:
- Illuminated Mind: Live and Work on your own terms: This. Blog. Is. Money.
- Jonathan Fields – A blog on life, entrepreneurship, work & life. Check out this.
- Exile Lifestyle – This dude moves from one country to the other every 4 months. Where does he move? Well, his readers decide. Unbelievable lifestyle.
- Castles in the Air – This girl just quit her day job in Nov. of 2010 and is embracing minimalism(owns 47 things), and traveling the world as a writer/artist.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Book(s): The Art of Non-Conformity
This book is one of the most challenging books I’ve ever read. I’m about 20 pages from being finished — however I almost want to read it all over again, this time to take notes.
Legit read. I’ll loan it out the second I finish it for the 2nd time.
Blog(s): Man of Depravity
This dude can flat out WRITE. Tyler killed it with his most recent post. Check him out!

October
Music: Jessie Marchant
I guess I’ll admit that I heard this guy’s song “Red October” play throughout the ending of a One Tree Hill episode. Thats the only reason I watch that show anyways…the music, that is..
Book(s): The Art of Non-Conformity by Chris Guillebeau
This book was recommended by Kyle Porter and is an incredible read so far. It’s on Setting your own rules, Living the Life you want, & Changing the world — Cool huh…?
Blog(s): Nate Thiry – Pity Laughs
Fresh off the press! An incredibly smart dude with incredible wit, not to mention an incredible guy. Yea.. Incredible.
